How to do Free SHS online admission easily without leaving home

Many secondary schools in Ghana have initiated Free SHS online admission processes to make the admission and related pre enrollment processes easy for parents.

By using these Free SHS online admission portals, parents whose wards have been placed in such schools will save a lot of time, energy and resources.

The SHS1 online admission processes are easy to go through and use. The service is provided by BBECAS. They created this SHS Admission Portal to make your admissions process easier. Instead of visiting the school physically, you can complete everything online through this portal.

To use the online admission system for Free SHS schools, the school your ward has been placed must have be one of the schools on the portal.

Parents using the portals will pay a token as a fee. The online admission cost between Ghs30 and Ghs50. The fee is paid to the service provider and not the public or private SHS your ward has been placed into.

All form 1 students are required to report to school from 18^th to 20^th October 2025 to start the new 2025/26 academic year.

How to do Free SHS online admission

1. Go to https://m.shsadmissionportal.com/
2. Enter the name of the schooo you have been placed in to check if it is on the portal to proceed.
3. Enter your BECE student index number.
4. Continue to pay online for the processing fee
5. Fill in your person record information online and submit.
6. Download your Admission letter, prospectus and Acceptance form.
7. Print all your download forms to be submitted on the reopening day (18^th – 20^th October, 2025)

By using the steps outlined in the online admission portal above, parents may not need to visit the school ahead of reopening.

On the reopening date, students will have to report to school with their parents or guardians along with the following:

1. Enrolment form
2. Admission letter
3. Acceptance form
4. Result Slip printed from the WAEC result portal
5. Completed Placement form printed from the WAEC result portal
6. Health Insurance Card
7. Required items on prospectus.
