Feed your thoughts with positive self-belief and recite positive affirmations. Examples of positive affirmations are:
a. I will do well in this exam.

2. Read and brainstorm questions before solving
Read the instructions carefully: This is the most important thing you can do in the first 10 minutes of any paper. Make sure you understand what you are being asked to do and how much time you have to complete the paper.
Do not be in a hurry to start writing answers in your answer booklet without brains storming or thinking about the questions and the possible points to be explained.
3. Jot down anything you have learned that you think you will forget
Once you hear start work, jot down anything you have learned that you think you will forget on the question paper if it is allowed.
If not, go to the last page of your answer booklet and draw two straight lines across the page.
This is where you write down all the points and things you learned for the exam.
You can also plan your answers by writing the points and examples briefly there.
4. Read each question carefully
This will help you to understand what you are being asked to do. This will ensure that you do not waste time writing the wrong answers only to realise you did not understand the question.
Scan the paper: Once you have read the instructions, scan the paper to get an overview of the questions. This will help you to prioritize your time and focus on the questions that you are most likely to answer correctly.
5. Choose your questions carefully
Read or skim through the questions to make the right choices and ensure that, if for nothing at all, you can score most of the marks allocated to each question you have chosen.
6. Listen carefully to the instructions and also read them well along with the questions: This will help you to avoid making any mistakes, deviations and others. Most of the BECE and WASSCE instructions are on past papers. Read or know them before entering the exam hall.
7. Solve your best questions first.
Let me repeat this. Solve your best questions first.
After making your choices, also decide which question to answer first. Ensure that of all the questions you have chosen, you answer the question you can handle very well first.
Start with the easiest questions: If you are feeling confident, start with the easiest questions first. This will help you to build your confidence and get some easy marks under your belt.
This will boost your confidence and help save more time for the others.

Manage your time wisely: It is important to manage your time wisely so that you have enough time to answer all the questions. If you find yourself running out of time, try to answer the most important questions first.
Number your answers so that they match the exact question you are attempting.
Proofread your answers: This will help you to catch any errors.
