Ken Ofori Atta Denies Withdrawing Money From the Consolidated Funds.
The Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, has debunked the allegations of the majority that he had unconstitutionally withdrawn some money from the Consolidated funds for the construction of “the President’s cathedral”. According to him, all the payments that have been made so far were taken from the Contingency vaults of the country.
The Finance Minister made a vivid argument about there being a difference between the contingency funds and the contingency vaults. He also explained that the payments were made from funds in the “Government obligations” the government which accordingly got Parliamentary approval in the stated year.

“I did not withdraw from the contingency fund for the National Cathedral project. All the payments made for the National Cathedral were lawfully done from the contingency vaults and not from the contingency funds as alleged by the proponent.”, he added.
