Ibrahim Mahama Donates To 20,000 Homes In The Volta Region

Ghanaian Business tycoon Ibrahim Mahama and his team have donated several items to homes in Mepe and other towns in the Volta region.
The relief items included a substantial contribution, featuring 20,000 bags of 5kg rice, 24,000 cans of mackerel, 12,000 bottles of cooking oil, 400 packs of water, and 1,000 student mattresses. These supplies were delivered to the GP JHS Park in Mepe, where they were formally handed over to the recipients.

During the presentation of these essential items, Ibrahim Mahama, also the CEO of Engineers & Planners and Dzata Cement, expressed his condolences and shared that the relief effort aimed to empathize with the victims of the dam spillage. Additionally, he pledged support for academically gifted yet disadvantaged students who had been affected by the flooding.

The communities and their leaders warmly welcomed Ibrahim Mahama and his team, with a gathering at GP JHS Park in Mepe. Notable attendees included local chiefs, queen mothers, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Members of Parliament (MPs), representatives of political parties, and the resilient members of the affected communities.
Divine Osborn Fenu, the DCE for North Tongu, accepted the donation on behalf of the community, extending his gratitude to Ibrahim Mahama and his team for their substantial contribution, which significantly improved the well-being of the affected residents.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu, speaking on behalf of fellow parliamentarians, expressed appreciation for Ibrahim Mahama’s support. He assured that the distribution of the relief items would be carried out equitably among all the affected communities.
Torgbega Patamia Dzekley VII, the Paramount Chief of Bator, conveyed his heartfelt thanks to Ibrahim Mahama for extending his assistance during this critical time. He acknowledged the excitement and relief felt by the affected communities due to the substantial donation from the prominent businessman.
Ibrahim Mahama’s contribution stands as one of the most significant and generous support efforts by an individual or institution to aid those who have been displaced. Many of the affected residents were forced to seek refuge in schools, tents, churches, and mosques, as their homes were severely inundated following the spillage of the Akosombo Dam.
The Akosombo Dam spillage had catastrophic consequences, with the unleashed waters inundating communities situated around the dam, spanning several kilometers. The impact was felt across eight districts within three constituencies: North, Central, and South Tongu.
