I’ll train one million youth in coding, software applications under my Presidency – Bawumia
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, has unveiled an ambitious vision for Ghana’s technological future: to train 1 million youth in coding and software applications, should he be elected President in the 2024 elections.
This move, according to Bawumia, is crucial for driving the country’s technological advancement and ensuring that Ghana’s youth are at the forefront of the digital era.
Bawumia’s announcement came against the backdrop of a special Easter health walk, where he emphasized the pivotal role of technology in shaping the future.
“The future is technology, and the youth of this country are important to drive what we want to do in technological advancement,” he stated, outlining his commitment to harnessing the potential of young Ghanaians in transforming the nation’s tech landscape.
In addition to this groundbreaking educational initiative, Bawumia also proposed a radical overhaul of the current tax system.
He introduced the idea of a flat tax rate and tax amnesty for businesses and individuals, aiming to stimulate economic growth and alleviate the tax burden on Ghanaians.
“A vote for me is a vote for bold solutions,” he declared, contrasting his vision with what he perceives as the outdated approaches of his opponents.

Bawumia’s appeal to NPP supporters was clear – he called for unity and hard work to ensure victory in both the presidential race and securing a parliamentary majority.
By positioning himself as a candidate of innovation and progress, Bawumia seeks to galvanize support among Ghana’s youth and across the broader electorate, promising a new direction for the country with technology and modernized tax policies at its heart.
This commitment to train 1 million youth in coding and software applications not only highlights the importance of digital literacy in today’s job market but also positions Ghana to take a significant leap forward in the global digital economy under Bawumia’s leadership.
