Important Notice To All SHS Girls Students In Ghana
The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) has once again announced another program for Ghana Girls interested in Mathematical Sciences Program. GMPS is an exciting hybrid 9-month program created for bright, curious and creative female high school students to unlock their potential in the mathematical sciences.
It involves an online and residential model, carefully scheduled to ensure no interruption in mainstream academics. The goal is to mentor participants to
pursue STEM careers at the highest level in research, training and industry. The program is also designed to create a special class of students who will lead cutting edge research and
innovation in the next few years.
WHAT TO EXPECT
•Virtual meetings to train students on how to identify specific
problems.
• Insightful sessions with both leading Local and International
Scientists.
• Career mentoring programs.
• Science communication training and industry visits
• Residential component at AIMS Ghana.
• Extracurricular activities including industry visits, hands-on activities, meeting prominent figures (Fireside Chats) and fun
games.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT:
Books, laptops and internet access will be catered for.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Each Ghanaian Senior High School (SHS) can nominate 1-5 female students if she (or they) meet all the following
requirements:
• Must be a Ghanaian.
• Should be in SHS 1 or 2 or equivalent.
• Should have a passion for and strong ability in Mathematics as reflected in high school course grades and extracurricular activities.
• Should intend to pursue studies in the Mathematical
Sciences and /or STEM at the university level.
APPLICATION DOCUMENTS
•Application forms should be downloaded from the online application, completed, scanned and uploaded no later than 31st January 2023 by the nominating SHS.
• Upload of last two terms’ transcripts should be included
