Is Akuffo Addo an LGBTQ+ Activist? Check out the facts here
Is Akuffo Addo an LGBTQ+ activist? If not, why is he reluctant to sign the anti-LGBTQ+ bill into law? Is he engaged in due diligence to ensure the right things are done?
With the recent news about the passing of the anti-LGBTQ law, concerns have been raised about whether President Akuffo Addo is a gay activist or not. Following the passing of the bill, concerns have been raised about the president’s reluctance to sign the bill.
In an earlier report, the Ministry of Finance warned about the dire consequences the passage of the bill would have on the country. Notwithstanding, the president released a press statement, as expected of him, highlighting his stance on the signing of the bill.
Read the full statement below:
“I am aware that last week’s bi-partisan passage by Parliament of the Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, on a Private Member’s motion, has raised considerable anxieties in certain quarters of the diplomatic community and amongst some friends of Ghana that she may be turning her back on her, hitherto, enviable, longstanding record on human rights observance and attachment to the rule of law. I want to assure you that no such back-sliding will be con-templated or occasioned.
“I think it will serve little purpose to go, at this stage, into the details of the origin of this proposed law, which is yet to reach my desk. But, suffice it to say, that I have learnt that, today, a challenge has been mounted at the Supreme Court by a concerned citizen to the constitutionality of the proposed legislation.
“In the circumstances, it would be, as well, for all of us to hold our hands, and await the decision of the Court before any action is taken. The operation of the institutions of the Ghanaian state will determine the future trajectory of the rule of law and human rights compliance in our country”
This statement has caused many reactions to the weight of the bill and the real mindset of the president. This boils down to the major question. Is Akuffo Addo a gay or LGBTQ+ activist? this is the question many are asking on social media which was fueled by Captain Smart’s programme on Onua TV this morning.
According to Captain Smart, a renowned Ghanaian journalist, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo is a gay activist. He asserted this by pinpointing some key facts in his morning show on Onua TV this morning.
Below are some facts the journalist highlighted
1. Akuffo Addo Has Not Given His Personal Stand Regarding LGBTQ
Even though the president has not signed the bill, he has failed to identify whether he is for them or against them. He referred to numerous interviews where the president tried to swerve in answering those types of questions.
The journalist mentioned the fact that former Ghanaian presidents, from J.J. Rawlings to John Mahama, all highlighted their stance that they are against such activities, which the current president has failed to do.
2. Alleged Funding From Top US Gay Gurus
The journalist also alleged that the president received massive funding from an alleged gay group in the US to support his 2016 election campaign. Due to this, it will be difficult for the President to betray their alliance by standing against them since they provided him with funds to allow homosexuality in Ghana.

3. Reluctance To Sign The Bill
He strengthened his point by using the president’s reluctance to sign the bill.
However, it is not known whether his assertions are true or not. This write-up assessed the weight of his claims.
Currently, there is absolutely no valid evidence to prove that President Akuffo Addo is an LGBTQ+ activist.
Therefore, the general public is advised to disregard any false information regarding the President of Ghana being an LGBTQ+ activist.
we have failed as a country. if sixty years after independence, and we cannot stand firm and defend the nation against something that over ninty nine percent of our population is speaking against only because of a white man’s money, then why did seek for independence in the first place. Those that died through the struggle for Ghana’s independence died foolishly for no better reason. I feel shy as a Ghanaian and African
