Job Vacancy For Internal Auditor
A reputable general insurance company is seeking to recruit a dynamic, self-motivated and results oriented person for the position of Internal Auditor.
Key Responsibilities
Within the overall policy framework and strategy defined by the Board of Directors of the company, the Internal Auditor will be responsible for Internal Audit Function of the company. In particular, he/she shall have the following tasks and duties
• Design and set up the company’s internal audit function in line with best industry practice and standards
• Supervise the company’s internal audit function and planned audits
• Ensure complete, accurate and timely audit information is reported to the Board and/or its committees
• Identify and reduce all business and financial risks through effective implementation and monitoring of controls
• Continuously assess the sufficiency, effectiveness and appropriateness of the company’s implementation and compliance with its approved risk management strategy, policies, procedures and controls, identifying areas of significant risk and making recommmendation for improvement
• Monitor compliance with company’s business strategy, policies, controls and directives
• Assess the reliability, integrity and completeness of the accounting, financial reporting, management information technology systems, performing reconciliations and recommending appropriate risk aversion and cost savings measures
• Monitor the company’s compliance with statutory, legal, regulatory and industry standards and guidelines including, but not limited to, business conduct, capital and solvency requirements
• Conduct ad hoc investigations into identified or reported risks including fraud and improper conduct and promote ethics
• Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and goal achievement
• Conduct follow up audits to monitor managements interventions
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualification Required & Experience
• Chartered Accountant (CA, ACCA)
• A good university degree from a recognised university
• Must have at least 8 years of relevant experience from the financial services industry preferably from an insurance company
