Job Vacancy For Mechanical Technician – Pastefill

AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine is currently near completion of the redevelopment phase to become a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation. The underground mining operation has been fully mechanized and designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t/day of ore mined.

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as Mechanical Technician – Pastefill.

ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT

The Mechanical Technician – Pastefill will report to the Mechanical Supervisor – Pastefill and to ensure safe and effective Paste Fill operation and equipment maintenance at Paste fill plant through the application of operational engineering policies, AGAG standards, systems, and procedures to maximise plant availability in line with production.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Accept personal responsibility for his/her own health and safety and that of every mine worker affected by his work
• Work compliantly with the requirement of government of Ghana Agencies, environmental, health and safety legislation and AGAG regulation
• Comply and follow the operating procedures and environmental rules for the performance of assigned job
• Must correct, or report to supervisor any observed environmental deviations, practices and conditions as well as make suggestions to improve any aspect of environmental management
• Report directly to the Paste Fill Plant Mechanical Supervisor on issues identified
• Work according to AGAG management principles in terms of weekly maintenances and shutdowns.
• Adhere to site’s Environmental Management Plan and Safety (ensure zero injury and incident free)
• Ensure good housekeeping is done at the Paste Fill Plant and equipment.
• To improve preventive and corrective actions as necessary.
• Identify and communicate any issue that may cause a down time.
• Monitor equipment performance and take proactive measures to address symptoms of potential failure

Qualification Required & Experience

• Must possess a minimum of Mechanical Technician part II or equivalent

Experience

• Good mechanical background with a minimum of two (2) years working experience in Process Plant
• Experience in maintaining Piston pumps, Centrifugal pumps, Vacuum pumps, and pneumatic valves
• Abreast with Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health Safety and Technical) Regulation
