Job Vacancy For Technical Manager

A reputable company in the oil and gas (upstream) sector is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person for the position of Technical Manager.

The Technical Manager will report to the General Manager

Job Objective

• As a member of the management team, the Technical Manager will provide operational leadership and direction for the company’s technical division and the overall company strategy

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for project / campaigns being completed within budget and schedules while meeting clients needs, business objectives and HSEQS requirements
• Participate in pre-qualifications and tendering
• Participate in/perform project handover and contract review and quotations
• Participate in planning and execution of onshore/offshore operations
• Ensure that the engineering department has the competency and capacity according to business needs
• Take active responsibility for project HSEQS within projects
• Actively pursue additional business
• Perform site visits when sensible to provide management involvement and support to ongoing operations
• Track project plans / milestones. This entails planning, coordination and monitoring of engineering, production, testing and documentation
• Maintain and develop client relations

Qualification Required & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering subject
• A minimum of 5 years of work experience in upstream oil and gas
• Working knowledge in chemicals, process and pipeline services (PPS), drilling tools and equipment will be an advanatage

Skills and Competencies

• Good communication, interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skills
• Strong technical skills with the ability to design, plan and oversee technical operations
• Proven track record of attention to detail, time management and leadership skills
• Create ownership to results and decisions
• Ability to organise, document and control both digital and physical data
• High proficiency in Microsoft applications and general IT literacy
