Just In: GES Released An Important Message To All Headmasters In Secondary Schools

Important message to headmasters in Secondary schools. The administration in the various schools centred in the activities of the Headmasters. Headmasters are expected to deliver to the expectation of the school community and the society at large. In most cases, the Headmaster is the mouthpiece of the school. It is not surprising that the Education Service gave out this important message as it is beeing directed to the headmasters across all the secondary schools in Ghana. This important message to all headmasters in the second cycles institution was confirmed in a recent letter issued out by the management of the Ghana Education Service GES.
The content of the letter stipulate that, all headmasters in the various secondary schools are expected to permit all second year students in their school to go home and register for their voters identification card. This card will help the students to able to exercise their franchise whenever the mandate is given by the electoral commission of Ghana.
Therefore, all headmaster must allow only those students who are above 18 years to go and under take in the ongoing voters registration exercise.
Below are the exact words communicated in the letter from the management of Ghana Education Service GES directed to the headmasters of in the various secondary schools across the country
As part of the Constitutional regulation for all Ghanaian citizens to exercise their franchise, Management of the Ghana Education Service has granted form two (2) students who are eighteen (18) years and above to go home and register for their voter ID (identification card) the form two students are granted three (3) days effective Friday, 22nd Of September 2023 to Sunday 24th Of September 2023.
By copy of this letter, Regional Directors of Education are kindly requested to communicate the above statement to all head of Second Cycle institutions within your jurisdiction.

The ongoing limited voters registration has been a serious issues between the biggest opposition party, National Democratic Congress NDC and the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC). The case is even in court. In other not to disenfranchise any Ghanaian who have obtained the voting age as required by the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, Headmaster must allow the students to go to their various constituencies to register their voters ID.
