JUST IN: Payment of Government Workers Salaries In Limbo
Concerned employees of the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) have requested that their owed allowances be paid immediately by management and the Finance Ministry.
They will advise themselves if their honorarium, which has been in arrears for two years (2021,2022), is not paid.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, January 10, they threatened to boycott the upcoming national accounts validation exercise as well as the monthly salary validations conducted by the Government of Ghana (GoG) if their demands were not met.
“Having been denied our 2021 honorarium for the first time in the history of CAGD, we the concerned staff of CAGD wish to unequivocally state that any attempts by the Management of CAGD and the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to once again deny our hardworking staff of this age-old ‘solace’ would not be tolerated.
“Staff would be left with no choice but to embark on a series of legitimate actions, including abstaining from the upcoming national accounts validations exercise and the GoG monthly salary validations, to get this allowance paid to us,” the statement said in part.
As a result, the Concerned Employees have requested an immediate response to the grievances.
“We are serving notice to the CAGD Management and the MoF through this petition to address this matter as soon as possible, or we will advise ourselves.”
