JUST IN! Two Suspects Arrested In Connection With Murder Of Beheaded Taxi Driver
According to Ghana News, two people have been detained in connection with the murder of a taxi driver discovered in an unfinished structure at Ejumako Mando SHS.
The suspects were apprehended and detained in Pokuase, Greater Accra Region. Among the suspects was also the missing taxi, which had the license plate GT-6188-20.
Meanwhile, the deceased’s family has urged the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, to expedite the investigation so that the perpetrators can be brought to justice. They denied that the deceased had also been beheaded.
Some traders and drivers also expressed concern about the increasing number of strange deaths in the area, saying they were afraid to go about their business, especially early in the morning.
A 28-year-old Taxi Driver who had been missing for three days was discovered dead in an unfinished building earmarked for an SHS at Ajumako Mando in the Central Region’s Ajumako Enyan Essiam District.
According to information obtained, three men hired Bernard Botwey, a deceased taxi worker from Ekumfi Essakyir station, to drive them to Ekumfi Abaasa on October 29, 2020, but he never returned.
As a result, his family and fellow taxi drivers organized a search party, but all efforts were futile.
Residents of Ajumako Mando went to the area on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, around 2:00 PM, after smelling a bad smell coming from the unfinished building, and discovered the corpse naked.
His hands were also tied behind his back with a rope, and cutlass wounds were discovered on his body.
The assailants allegedly also stole the taxi with the license plate GT-6188-20.
As a result, they reported the incident to the Ajumako District Police Command. The crime scene appeared to show that the victim fought his attackers.
While the police search for the attackers, the body has been left at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital mortuary for an autopsy and preservation.
