10 Tips for keeping your 2024 new year resolutions
1. BE REALISTIC WITH YOUR RESOLUTIONS
Making your objective unreachable is the surest way to fall short of it. Resolving to never eat your favourite dish again, for example, is a recipe for failure. Instead, set a realistic goal for yourself, such as avoiding it more frequently than you do currently.
2. PLAN AHEAD
Make your resolution on the first day of the year, not on New Year’s Eve. If you wait until the last minute, your decision will be influenced on your mood that day. Instead, it should be arranged far in advance of December 31st.
3. OUTLINE YOUR PLAN CLEARLY
Make a plan for how you’ll handle the temptation to miss the gym or eat that piece of cake. This might involve enlisting the assistance of a friend, engaging in positive thinking and self-talk, or reminding yourself of how your “bad conduct” will impact your objective.

4. MAKE A “PROS” AND “CONS” LIST
It may be beneficial to see a list of things written down to keep your motivation high. Over time, compile this collection and invite others to add to it. Keep your list with you and refer to it whenever you need to stay motivated.
5. TALK ABOUT YOUR RESOLUTIONS WITH THOSE YOU TRUST
Don’t keep your New Year’s resolution hidden. Tell your friends and family members who will be there to support you in your efforts to improve your health or alter yourself for the better. Finding a friend who shares your New Year’s resolve and motivates each other is the best-case scenario.
6. REWARD YOURSELF FOR EVERY SUCCESS
If your resolution is to eat a healthier diet, this does not imply you may consume an entire box of chocolates. Instead, reward yourself for your accomplishments by doing something you like that does not conflict with your resolution. If you’ve been adhering to your vow to eat healthier, reward yourself with new workout gear or a trip to the movies with a buddy.
7. TRACK YOUR PROGRESS TOWARDS ACHIEVING THE RESOLUTION
Keep track of your tiny victories. Short-term objectives are simpler to stick to, and each tiny victory will help you stay motivated. Rather than concentrating on dropping 30 pounds, concentrate on the first five. Keep a meal diary to help you remain on track, and give yourself a five-pound reward for each pound you lose.
8. DON’T BEAT YOURSELF UP; TAKE IT EASY
Obsessing over a minor blunder will not help you reach your objective. Do your best each day and take things one day at a time.
9. STICK TO IT, KEEP YOUR FOCUS
A new activity takes around 21 days to become a habit and six months to become part of your personality, according to experts. It’s not going to happen overnight, so be patient and persistent!

10. KEEP TRYING; YOU WILL SUCCEED
Don’t despair if you’ve lost all motivation to keep your resolve by the middle of February. Restart the game! Recommit for the next 24 hours. You have 24 hours to do whatever you want. The 24-hour intervals will quickly add up, and you’ll be back on track before you know it.
