Ken Ofori Atta Speaks Tomorrow; Things He Is Expected To Address
The Finance Minister will appear before the ad-hoc committee of Parliament co-chaired by Honorable K.T Hammond and Honorable Dominic Ayine. On Tuesday, the proponents of the motion of censure against the Finance Minister, represented by Haruna Iddrisu and Cassiel Ato Forson made an appearance before the committee to make a presentation of the grounds on which they believe Ken Ofori Atta must be censured.
The committee had ruled out the grounds or allegation of conflict of interest against the Finance Minister. The argument was that it was not in the ambit of the committee to make a determination on that case. However, the Finance Minister was given 48 hours to prepare and respond to these grounds against him. Tomorrow, 18th November 2022, Ken Ofori Atta will appear before the committee and he is expected to respond to the following.
- Unconstitutional withdrawal from the Consolidated funds to construct the National Cathedral
- Illegal payments of oil revenues to offshore accounts
- Fiscal recklessness
- Deliberate and Dishonest Misreporting of financial data
