KsTU To Organize Special Examinations To Affected Students
Management of Kumasi Technical University(KsTU) will organize a special examination to all persons who failed to register for semester two due to delay in the payment of fees.
On Monday, 14th August, 2023, management of the university met with the Academic Board and decided to let affected students write a special examination.
This examination is solely for students who failed to register for semester two but have now paid their fees in full. All students who meet this new requirements should send their details to their head of departments for registration.
“The University Community and the General Public are hereby informed that the Academic Board at its Emergency Meeting held on Monday, 14th August 2023 discussed the deferment of programme of some students in respect of the non-registration for the Second Semester (2022/2023 Academic Year).
The Board decided as follows:
1. That, Special Examinations shall be organised later for non-registered students after the End-of-Second Semester Examinations (2022/2023).
2. That, only affected students who have paid their school fees in full and appropriate penalties shall qualify to write the Special Examinations.
3. That, modalities for the Special Examinations shall be communicated in due course. All affected students who are interested should write to their Heads of Department with their student details for consideration latest by Tuesday, 22nd August 2023.
Note: Affected Students on industrial attachment/internship are included in this arrangement”
This comes after rumours spread on the internet that the Kumasi Technical University (KsTU) in the Ashanti Region has asked over two thousand students to defer following their inability to register for their academic course before the deadline of academic registration.
Reports are that, most of the students failed to register their respective courses because they could not pay their fees in full.
The decision by the university management has been met by fierce opposition by the affected students who feel the move by the university is unjust.
According to the students, the decision of the university is unfair because the affected students were made to pay a penalty fee to be allowed to register for the courses.
The university management reacted such rumors and revealed that the number of students who were asked to defer were not 2,000 but rather 648. Also these students currently have the opportunity to register for the special Examination of they pay their fees and full.
