Latest Update On The 2023 Intervention Fund For Teachers And Staff
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has received funds for the payment of academic intervention to staff of second cycle institutions.
In a press release from the Ghana Education Service, reveals that an amount of money is to be received by each school and expected to be shared among staff members.
According to the statement, the fund will be released and distributed into the account of all beneficiary schools.
The Ghana Education Service has further directed all Regional Directors to monitor and ensure that heads and schools authorities disburse the
monies to every staff in line with the modalities published.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Ghana Education Service said, Management refers to the following officers:
1. Head

2. Assistants
3. Senior Housemaster/Mistress
4. Accountants
The letter written by the acting Deputy Director-General of Ghana Education Service (GES) in charge of Management Service Stephen Kwaku Owusu to Regional Directors of Education said, special attention should be given to the kitchen staff of every institution.
It is the expectation of Management that, the Cost Centre Managers will manage the distribution to ensure fairness in terms of participation in the general management of the intervention programme.
The table below shows the guidelines for distributing Academic Intervention Fund.
1 Management – 5% for day, 5% boarding
2 Teaching – 75% for day, 70% boarding
3 Non-Teaching – 20% for day, 25% boarding
For the avoidance of doubt, the School Management refers to; Head, Assistants, Senior Housemaster/ Mistress and Accountant.
Please note:
1. Special attention should be given to the kitchen staff.
2. Under no circumstance should any staff benefit from more than one category
3. Refer to the Chief Accountant of GES, Headquarters, if the above distribution ratios compromise equity and fairness.
4. Each Cost Centre Manager must set up a committee to share the amount to be received, indicating the amount each staff is allocated and forward same to the Director-General through naathom@gmail.com before the funds are transferred to the schools.
5. These allocations should be endorscd by the Head and Accountant.
