4. Accountants

The letter written by the acting Deputy Director-General of Ghana Education Service (GES) in charge of Management Service Stephen Kwaku Owusu to Regional Directors of Education said, special attention should be given to the kitchen staff of every institution.

It is the expectation of Management that, the Cost Centre Managers will manage the distribution to ensure fairness in terms of participation in the general management of the intervention programme.

The table below shows the guidelines for distributing Academic Intervention Fund.

1 Management – 5% for day, 5% boarding

2 Teaching – 75% for day, 70% boarding

3 Non-Teaching – 20% for day,  25% boarding

For the avoidance of doubt, the School Management refers to; Head, Assistants, Senior Housemaster/ Mistress and Accountant.
Please note:
1. Special attention should be given to the kitchen staff.
2. Under no circumstance should any staff benefit from more than one category
3. Refer to the Chief Accountant of GES, Headquarters, if the above distribution ratios compromise equity and fairness.
4. Each Cost Centre Manager must set up a committee to share the amount to be received, indicating the amount each staff is allocated and forward same to the Director-General through naathom@gmail.com before the funds are transferred to the schools.
5. These allocations should be endorscd by the Head and Accountant.
