Captains play a significant role both in dressing room and on the field.He ensures everything goes on well on and off the pitch

Here are the list of  black Stars players who have made a significant contributions in selling the good name of the country through football

1. Emmanuel Awuley Quaye: He captained the National team,the Black Stars in the 1978 African Cup of Nations.He led the team to win the trophy.

2.Kuuku Dadzie:He played for the Black Stars from 1978 until 1980. He was the captain for the team in the 1980 AFCON.

Emmanuel Quashie:He was the captain for the Back Stars when they won the 1982 AFCON.He was the leader of the playing body.

4.Isaac Paha: Isaac played for Black Stars in the year 1970.He became the deputy captain and proceeded the general captain.

5.James Kwesi Appiah: He was  a perfect player for the team in the 1980s. He captain the Team in the 1992 African Cup of Nations. He played a significant role when the team won the AFCON in 1982. He doubled as the first Ghanaian coach to qualify Black Stars to World Cup.He did so in the year 2014 as a head coach for the team.

6.Abedi Ayew Pele: He is known as the maestro one of the successful players in the history of African football.He captained the team for Six years from 1992 to 1988.

7.C.K. Akornor: He became the National team captain after the retirement of Abedi Pele.He was exceptional whenever he is in the national colours and on the field.

8. Stephen Appiah:He captained the team to its first World Cup in 2006 and also in 2010 respectively

9.John Mensah:He was assistant to Stephen Appiah and subsequently became the general captain.

10.Asamoah Gyan:He is the all time goal scorer for the senior national team with 51 goals.He was part of the 2006,2010 and 2014 world cup team.

11. Andre Dede Ayew:He is the current general captain for the back stars. And able to qualified the team to the 2022 Qatar World Cup
