LIVESTREAMING: Christian Atsu’s funeral rites underway
The country of Ghana is currently observing the state-assisted funeral rites of Christian Atsu Twasam, a famous Ghanaian international football star.
The late footballer’s body is lying in state at the State House forecourt in Accra, where numerous Ghanaians and dignitaries from all over the world are expected to pay their final respects.
Christian Atsu met his untimely death after being recovered from the wreckage of his apartment, which had collapsed during an earthquake that struck Turkey on February 6, 2023.
The one-week memorial held on March 4 was in honor of the late Black Stars player, who had touched the lives of many.
The funeral ceremony is expected to be attended by numerous dignitaries, including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, as well as other government officials, local and international teammates, and officials.
The presence of these dignitaries is a testament to the significant impact that Christian Atsu had on Ghana and the world of football.
The funeral ceremony marks the end of a life that was devoted to football and bringing joy to many. Christian Atsu was not only a footballer but also a role model for many young people in Ghana who aspire to greatness in their chosen fields.
