Mbredane Basic School benefits from Smart Classroom project
The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Area (STMA) in the Western Region is witnessing a transformative educational initiative with the roll-out of the Smart Classroom project, benefiting six schools including the Mbredane Basic School.
This innovative project, equipped with modern technological tools, marks a significant leap towards enhancing the educational landscape for students in this region.
At the forefront of this initiative, Abdul Mumin-Issah, the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of STMA, inaugurated the smart laboratory at Mbredane, symbolizing a new era of digital learning for the community.
The introduction of this project into the educational system aligns with the broader goal of bridging the digital divide between urban and rural schools, ensuring that students in less developed areas have access to the same quality of education as their urban counterparts.
The Mbredane Basic School, as part of this project, received an impressive array of digital learning tools, including 50 tablets, laptops, a projector, charging cabinets, electronic kits, and a content access point.
These resources are not just about the hardware but represent a shift towards an interactive and engaging way of learning, where students can explore the vast world of information technology and digital education.
The Metropolitan Director of Education, Sally Nelly Coleman, highlighted the importance of the community’s involvement in protecting and maintaining these valuable resources.

The project is not just a testament to technological advancement but also a call to unity and cooperation among community leaders, teachers, students, and parents to safeguard this investment for future generations.
Abdul Mumin-Issah’s commitment to the educational development of the Mbredane community is evident in his plans for further infrastructure improvements, including the construction of additional classroom blocks and teacher accommodations.
This holistic approach ensures that the benefits of the Smart Classroom project are maximized, laying a strong foundation for the students to achieve excellence in various fields.
As the Mbredane community embarks on this journey towards enhanced digital learning, the hope is that this project will serve as a blueprint for other communities, demonstrating the transformative power of education when merged with technology.
The Smart Classroom project is not just about providing digital tools but about shaping a future where every child has the opportunity to learn, innovate, and thrive in an increasingly digital world.
