However, Morocco was able to defy all odd by beating Belgium and Canada and securing a point from Croatia to top their group.

At the end of the group stages, Morocco secured 7 points, Croatia secured 5 points, Belgium Obtained 4 points and Canada had no points. Belgium and Canada were eliminated from the group stages and Croatia and Morocco proceeded to the round of 16th.

At the round of 16th, Morocco beats Spain on Penalties and Croatia defeated Japan on Penalties.
