Ministry of Education Serves Important Message – See Details

The Ministry of Education was shocked to hear that Yaa Asantewa and Armed Forces Senior High School in the Ashanti region were running out of food.
The government hasn’t given Senior High Schools (SHS) across the country a grant to pay for food almost a week after school started.
Due to the situation, GHOneTV News has heard that some schools have not yet started serving food in their dining halls.
Yaw Opoku Mensah told Starr News that the Ministry of Education is determined to get food for the students. He did this by talking to Starr News with Naa Dedei Tettey, who is the Ministry’s deputy Public Relations Officer (PRO).
“The answer I got was very different from what you’re telling me. So this is not only strange, but I don’t even know how to explain it. As school started back up, I heard that students are fed according to the plan or instructions. But if you tell me about cases where people got their money late, I will agree with you.
“Because those who don’t get their money from rural banks got it early on Tuesday and Wednesday. They also started getting theirs on Wednesday for the Commercial Banks. People whose money came straight from the Bank of Ghana were the ones who had to wait. Mr. Opoku said, “A letter of receipt was taken from the heads of schools all over the country.
He went on to say, “The food situation in our schools right now is not what is said or shown. And I want to find out what happened in a clear way.
Because of this, we have coordinators all over, as well as GHAFA regional coordinators in each area. If a school doesn’t have something, it knows where to go and who to tell. So, it’s a surprise to hear about the Armed Forces and Yaa Asantewa Senior High School.”
