MoE announces payment of outstanding 2025 November teacher allowances

The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has finished processing and paying the two types of teacher allowances planned for November 2025, the Ministry of Education has announced.

In a statement sighted by GhanaEducation.org, the Education Ministry said a technical issue in the final payroll run prevented the payment from being processed as planned.

“This unforeseen challenge has since been resolved by the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD), paving the way for the completion of the payments,” the Education Ministry said.

It added The Ministry of Education apologises to all affected teachers for the delay and any inconvenience it may have caused.

We deeply appreciate the patience, understanding, and continued dedication of our teachers, whose commitment remains central to the delivery of quality education across Ghana.”

The Ministry in Charge of Education says it will continue collaborating with the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department and other stakeholders to improve payroll systems and prevent future issues.

“The Ministry will continue collaborating with the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department and other stakeholders to improve payroll systems and prevent future issues,” the Ministry said in the statement.

The payment of the November 2025 allowances for teachers comes after the Controller and Accountant General’s Department announced a delay in the payment of the two allowances due to a technical hitch in the payroll system.

In the statement sighted by Pretertiary.com, the Controller and Accountant said its inability to process the allowances of teachers in the education sector was due to a technical hitch encountered during the final payroll run.

“To avoid any further delay in the payment of November 2025 salaries for all Government of Ghana workers, the processing of these allowances was paused,” the Accountant General’s Department stated.

It added, “We assure all affected workers that the issue is being resolved. The outstanding allowances will be paid together with the December 2025 salaries on 18th December 2025. We regret the inconvenience caused and sincerely appreciate your patience.
