Moises Caicedo Transfer: Liverpool Reach Agreement To Sign Brighton Midfielder For £110m; Chelsea Submits New Bid
The English Premier League begins tomorrow. The transfer market is still open as Liverpool hours ago reached an agreement with Premier League club, Brighton and Hove Albion to sign Chelsea’s transfer target Moises Caicedo for a record of £110m ($140m).
Brighton and Hove Albion made it clearer that the highest bidder will be given the chance to sign the star midfielder.
Although an agreement has been reached between Liverpool and Brighton, personal terms are yet to be agreed with the 21-year-old midfielder. Regarding reports, medicals are planned today, Friday 11 for Moises Caicedo to be a Liverpool player after being the highest bidder in this race.
If the Moises Caicedo dal goes through, it will break the record signing of Virgil Van Dijk (£75m). Although Chelsea remained the top club who remained interested from start, Liverpool too were in the race and now offered a staggering record of £110m ($140m) for the player from Brighton and Hove Albion.
After the predictable departure of Fabinho to Al Ittihad, Liverpool are in need of a defensive midfielder and Moises Caicedo is the replacement.
With the departures of Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount, Chelsea have remained interested and were the front-runner of the race to sign Moises Caicedo.
Despite their interest in Moises Caicedo, Chelsea is also following keenly on Romeo Lavia of Southampton whiles Liverpool too is in the race for the wonderkid from the Saints.
With the start of the transfer window, Brighton and Hove Albion already sold the Argentine sensational midfielder, Alexis Mac Allister to Liverpool. Alexis Mac Allister was a midfield partner for Chelsea target, Moises Caicedo.
Brighton and Hove Albion begins their 2023/2024 Premier League campaign on Saturday 12th August against Luton Town.
