MTN is dedicated to fighting Momo Fraud on its network to ensure customers’ Momo wallets are fully protected.
The days of receiving fraudulent calls and your money on your wallet being stolen are fading out yet there are more customers need to know to safeguard their momo from fraud boys.
To ensure customers are safe, MTN Ghana has outlined steps that customers can take to avoid all forms of MTN Momo Fraud tricks by criminals.
How to detect and report MTN MoMo Fraud
According to MTN, it only contacts its customers via its official office line. All MTN MoMo subscribers are kindly to note that MTN officials only call customers with the official line 0244300000.
Hence, every other caller who uses another number instead of the above but tells you he or she is calling from MTN is a fraudster.
MTN has further advised its customers to avoid discussing their wallets or any personal details with strangers.
Reporting suspected Momo Fraudster
Customers are advised to hang up and report suspected fraudster’s name and phone numbers and fraudulent businesses to the email mmfraudteam.GH@mtn.com.

Customers can alternatively send SMS to 1515 or Ussd *170# to Lodge their reports for swift action.
However, when in doubt as an MTN MoMo customer call 100.
Once a customer suspects an attempt to defraud him or her, the customer can record the conversation and attach the file to the email sent to MTN to help provide excellent evidence for decision-making at the MTN.
