Emmanuel Andrews Samini, known in showbiz as Samini has disclosed that his heart bleeds and he is disappointed in President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the hard times he has plunged Ghana into.
The Ghanaian musician in a Tweet chastised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over the free fall of the value of the Cedi against the US Dollar. The US dollar has quickly depreciated to 1$ to GHS15.65 and it has been projected to hit GHS20.00 per Dollar by year-end.
Samini said he supported the vision and campaign of President Akufo-Addo and his bid to be President but his soul bleeds because currently, investments are being whipped away due to the depreciation of the cedi.
Samini stressed that there cannot be any pretence that all is well with the country as people are crying over the current economic challenges.
“Dear @NAkufoAddo.I supported you to bring change and stability.
I believed in the vision and your concept of change! But with 2 years to go, my soul bleeds. Our investments wash away daily as the dollar openly whips our Cedi. Your people are crying. We cannot pretend all is well,” he tweeted.
Samini, notwithstanding, is hopeful that Ghana will over the prevailing economic crisis since it blessed with the ability to confront problems headon.
We go keep hope alive and continue to soldier on. What’s a man without hope? We can only continue to pray for a better tomorrow. To all my high graders out there, I say it again ,
we will #bealright!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
“But if God has blessed Ghana with anything, it is our ability to stare difficulty right in the face and say, it will #bealright,” he continued.
Samini concluded by calling on the President, who had begged to given the mandate to govern, to address indiscipline and get Ghana to work again.
“Ghana must work again! Where is the Nana Addo who begged us for the mandate?
The indiscipline in high and low places of government must be checked,” he appealed.
Samini has consistently backed President Akufo-Addo, notably throughout his campaign for reelection in 2020. He wrote songs and performed with the President on campaign stages, extolling his qualities and pleading with the public to keep him in office.
