NAGRAT Demands Immediate Reinstatement of Interdicted WASS Headmistress
NAGRAT Demands Immediate Reinstatement of Interdicted WASS Headmistress. This Is The Latest Demand From The National Association of Graduate Teachers.
The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) is demanding the immediate reinstatement of the interdicted headmistress of the West Africa Senior High School, Dr. Shine Agatha Ofori.
According to the Ghana Education Service (GES), Dr. Ofori was interdicted for allegedly collecting unauthorized money from students. However, NAGRAT believes that the GES’s decision is emblematic of the challenges faced by senior high schools across the country.
NAGRAT President Angel Carbonu said that the GES is scapegoating Dr. Ofori and that the government should focus on financially resourcing schools instead. He also called for a review of the Free SHS policy, saying that schools are deteriorating very fast.
“The problem is bigger than West Africa Senior High School,” Carbonu said. “It is a nationwide problem. We think it is absolutely wrong and unacceptable for heads of senior high schools to be singled out in this case.”

NAGRAT is urging the government to reinstate Dr. Ofori and other headteachers who have been interdicted for similar reasons. They are also calling for a review of the Free SHS policy to ensure that schools have the resources they need to provide quality education.
