The National Science & Maths Quiz #NSMQ2023 Quarter Final enters day two, with three slots up for grabs in the Semis at stake. In all nine schools, three pairs will battle it out for supremacy to join the likes of Wesley Girls’ High School, Achimota School, and St. Louis SHS in the semi-finals.

The first contest of the day will be Opoku Ware School vs. Osei Tutu SHS vs. St. John’s School. Opoku Ware School has been tipped to make it into the Semis in this contest.
In the second contest, the schools that will clash are Pope John’s SHS and Min Sem., St. James Seminary SHS, and Aburi Presby SHST. Pope John’s SHS is projected to win this contest and make the semi-finals, of the 2023 NSMQ.
In the final contest of the day, Mawuli School, Abetifi Presby SHTS, and Prempeh College will lock horns in what is expected to be a fierce battle for supremacy. Prempeh College will have to show class and composure and exhibit depth of knowledge with their answers if they are to make this contest a walk in the back. However, Mawuli School and Abetifi Presby SHTS are expected to put up a good fight. On a good day, any of these two schools can cause the first upset in the Quarter-finals of the competition tonight.
In a related development, the One-eighth Stage brought forth its fair share of drama, controversies, protests, and victorious moments. It all began at the Saarah-Mensah Auditorium on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, as Wesley Girls’ High School, determined to claim the trophy, faced off against Archbishop Porter Girls and Ghanata SHS. Wesley Girls displayed remarkable intelligence and prowess, overwhelming their competitors with a commanding performance and securing victory with 54 points.
Following this impressive win, Osei Kyeretwie Secondary School (Okess) had their day in the sun, scoring 49 points and defeating St. Joseph Seminary SHS and Notre Dame Girls’ SHS. The latter, Notre Dame Girls, later qualified as the top runner-up to the One-eighth Stage. In another exciting match, Wesley Grammar SHS secured a Quarter-final Stage qualification after a tiebreaker with 31 points, narrowly defeating Tema Methodist SHS.
