Management of the Ghana Education Service(GE has rescheduled the reopening date of SHS 1 students in double track schools.
The original reopening date for SHS 1 students in double track schools used to be 18th September, 2023. However, management of the Ghana Education Service has rescheduled this date from 18th September, 2023 to 25th September, 2023. This means additional one week has been added. The reason for this new date is to let the SHS 3 Students, who are currently writing their WASSCE finish their papers before letting the SHS 1 students in school.
Statement from the Ghana Education Service
Management of the Ghana Education Service wishes to inform all Heads of Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools that the reopening date for Form One students has been rescheduled to 25th September, 2023. By this letter, Regional Directors of Education are requested to communicate this information to all Heads of Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools to inform parents/guardians and
students to take note of the new date and prepare according.

VACATION DATES IN SEPTEMBER, 2023
Basic Schools
Basic Schools(KG To JHS) will be going on vacation on 14th September, 2023. This will be the end of the 2023/2024 academic year. The academic year began on 10th January, 2023 and expected to end on 14th September, 2023.
SHS(Single Track)
Senior High Schools that run in single track will be going on vacation on 15th September, 2023. SHS 2 students in this category have already ended their academic year.
SHS(Double Track Schools)
Double Track Schools will also have some vacation in the month of September. SHS 3 Students, who are currently writing their exams will bring an end of their WASSCE this month. Aside from this, there will be no vacation for students double track schools. SHS 1 students, who are currently on break will be reopening on 25th September, 2023.
WHAT ABOUT TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS
Most tertiary institutions are currently on vacation. They have ended the 2022/2023 academic year. Reopening dates for most institutions is in January, 2024
