The Ghana Education Service (GES) has reacted to a fake press release circulating on social media, indicating the reopening date for Junior High Schools has been postponed to 12th July 2021.
GES confirms JHS reopening date
On its Facebook page, the GES called on stakeholders to disregard the said press release since it was fake. The fake press release went viral and misinformed the general public, students, and teachers who were preparing for the Tuesday 6th July reopening.

The GES has indicated that “Reopening for JHS remains 6th July 2021.”
The official reopening date for JHS remains 6th July 2021 for the commencement of academic work for the second semester.
