NPP Supports Otumfuo’s Save KATH
NPP Contributes ¢200k to Otumfuo Osei’s ‘Save KATH’ Campaign, Advocates for Apolitical Support
In a commendable show of solidarity, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has donated ¢200,000 towards Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s ‘Save KATH’ fundraiser, aimed at revitalizing the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH). The General Secretary of the NPP, Justine Kodua Frimpong, took the opportunity to call for unity, urging Ghanaians to refrain from politicizing the crucial initiative.
Acknowledging the pressing need for collective action, Mr. Frimpong stressed the significance of a bipartisan approach to address the alarming state of KATH, a tertiary hospital that caters to over ten regions in Ghana. Currently grappling with infrastructure deficiencies and non-functional essential machinery, KATH faces challenges that directly impact the quality of healthcare delivery.
In response to these challenges, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II initiated a fundraising campaign, Save KATH, with the ambitious goal of raising GH¢10 million for the hospital’s renovation and improvement. The NPP’s contribution of ¢200,000 towards Otumfuo Osei`s Save KATH initiative is a noteworthy step towards achieving this target, signaling the party’s commitment to the betterment of healthcare infrastructure.

Mr. Kodua of NPP used the occasion to call upon corporate entities to join hands in supporting this noble cause ‘Save KATH’. He emphasized the apolitical nature of health issues, stating, “At this point, we don’t need to be partisan because health does not matter whether you are NDC or NPP, and so we are calling on our brothers from the NDC and the other parties to support the project.”
Mr. Kodua`s, Gen. Sec. of NPP, appeal for non-partisan cooperation to support the Otumfuo Osei’s ‘save KATH’ initiative underscores the understanding that the challenges facing KATH demand a united front, transcending political affiliations. The health sector, being a vital component of national development, necessitates collaborative efforts to ensure the well-being of citizens.

In conclusion, the NPP’s generous donation to Otumfuo’s ‘Save KATH’ campaign serves as a reminder that certain causes, especially those related to public health, should rise above political divides. The success of this initiative relies on the broader community coming together, united in the shared goal of ensuring the well-being of those who depend on the services provided by KATH.
