Reliable news picked by Ghana Education News indicates that Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, one of the 10 NPP parliamentary candidates has called Baqumia on the phone to tell the Vice President that, he will go to the opposition. The Presidential candidate can be heard on the phone saying, they do not know what he will do to Akufo-Addo and Bawumia
“Bawumia, I’m telling you. If you want to go into opposition, you’ll go” were the exact words of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong as he fumes over the alleged intimidation of his agents by VP Bawumia and his team at the NPP Super Delegates Conference. The NPP is expected to elect 5 top Presidential candidates at the NPP Super Delegates Conference today.
In a viral video sighted by Ghana Education News, one could see Hon. Kennedy Agyapong being followed and held to calm his nerves as he speaks on the phone.

In a related development, Ben Ephson has predicted that Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen, and Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong will be the top 3 candidates to make the cut. He believes that the remaining two spots will be contested by former Minister of Justice and Attorney General Joe Ghartey, former Minister of Food and Agriculture Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and former Minister of Energy Boakye Agyarko.

The super delegates conference is scheduled to take place at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, August 27. The voting will begin at 10:00 AM and is expected to be completed by 5:00 PM.
The results of the conference will be announced shortly after the voting is finished. The top 5 candidates will then go on to contest the final flagbearership race on November 4.
