NPP Will Be in Serious Danger If You Don’t Listen To This – Dr. Asah Asante To Akufo-Addo

Dr. Kwame Asah Asante, the Senior Political Science Lecturer at the University of Ghana, has urged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to consider the Majority Caucus’ demand for the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, and Charles Adu Boahen, Minister of State in the Finance Ministry.
Over 80 New Patriotic Party members of Parliament have petitioned the President to fire the two Ministers.
The Finance Minister, according to Subin MP Eugene Boakye Antwi, is “experimenting with our nation, and we’ve had enough.”
He threatened to boycott all government work in Parliament if the President refused to “let Ken Ofori-Atta leave.”
At a news conference on Tuesday, the MPs said that “if our request is not favorably replied to, we will not be present for the budget hearing, nor will we participate in the discussion.”
Dr. Asah Asante warned on Peace FM’s morning program “Kokrokoo” that the President’s failure to pay attention to the MPs would have major consequences.

He said that if the President does not listen to the disgruntled MPs, his party’s chances would suffer.
He said that it would result in constituents in NPP strongholds voting “skirt and blouse,” which will harm the party’s representation in Parliament as well as negatively impact the NPP in the 2024 elections.
Furthermore, the party’s legitimacy and integrity will suffer.
“This is the moment for the President to listen to what the party’s 80 members have to say. It will benefit him, “He said.
He stated that it might also lead to a scenario in which “They (NPP MPs) would protest” against President Nana Akufo-Addo by “joining the Minority in passing a motion of censure to remove the Finance Minister.” This will plunge the party into disrepute and undermine it “.
