‘I Cried Every Night Over My Inability To Make Babies’ – Diana Hamilton
Diana Hamilton, a Ghanaian gospel singer, has spoken about the tough times she and her husband went through when they were unable to have children.
More than six years passed before she was finally able to get pregnant and give birth, and throughout that time, she wept herself to sleep every night.
Diana Hamilton, speaking on JOY Prime, said that she wants women who are unable to give birth to be treated with respect because of what she went through.
When the end of each month rolled around and my hopes were dashed, I would cry. You don’t weep like an unbeliever when you’re a Christian; you weep with hope.
“You’re being a hypocrite if you don’t shed a tear. It was a miracle, and I sobbed, but I believed God.”
Diana Hamilton also said that the happiness she had after having children was a major inspiration for many of her songs. She now considers the sour treatment and the flood of tears to have been worth it.
The “Adom” singer also shared that she almost died from a fatal condition.
During the height of Covid, when visitors were banned and I feared for my life, I was hospitalized for about six days and nobody could tell me what was wrong.
