Nurses Salary in Ghana: See How Much They Earn (2022)
One of the jobs that have always been well-paid and respected is nursing. The only problem with being a nurse right now is that nurses aren’t paid well, especially in Ghana. You must have looked for this article because of two main things.
The first is that you love nursing and want to become a nurse in Ghana, so you want to know how much they make. The second is that you’re probably doing research for someone else. No matter why you’re here, this article will be a great read and give you the information you need.
We can’t say that nurses in Ghana haven’t had a hard time in the last few years, since they’ve gone on strike after strike to get their pay raised. This makes us wonder how much Ghanaian nurses get paid. The government of Ghana has made it illegal for nurses to work outside the country.
In Ghana, it is very expensive to become a nurse because the job is seen as very dangerous because it deals with people’s lives. A survey done in 2014 showed that at the time of the survey, there were 20,400 nurses in Ghana who were paid at least $400 per month. There are definitely more nurses now, so it makes sense to find out how much they make now.

How much do nurses in Ghana get paid?
How much community nurses in Ghana get paid depends on whether they are registered or not.
Registered nurses in Ghana get paid based on how much they have learned. The average annual salary for a registered nurse in Ghana is between $3,600 and $4,800. After taxes are taken out, this is how much money is left. This salary should be enough for them to live on each month, but the cost of living and utilities is so high that nurses have to get second jobs.
Most nurses around the world work almost around the clock every day because there are always people in hospitals who need help. In Ghana, on the other hand, nurses only work between 15 and 18 hours a day. This is likely because they also have to work at other jobs to make ends meet. This just means that nurses with a diploma and those with a bachelor’s degree should get paid more. In 2010, the salaries of nurses in Ghana were looked at, and the current rates are not known.
The Ghanaian government had a bond program for nurses until 2014. This meant that nurses could not work outside of Ghana. If they had to, they’d have to pay a lot of money for it. The number of nurses in Ghana went down because of this bond scheme. For example, the KorleBu Hospital was said to have very few nurses a few years ago. Ghana has said that they have enough nurses now, so the bond scheme is no longer in place.
Because there were a lot of new nurses, one of them was overworked and rude to patients and didn’t do a good job. Their actions made things very bad for Ghanaian hospitals because most patients got worse because they didn’t get the right care.
