Oda community benefits from new Education Endowment Fund initiative

Alexander Amponsah-Yeboah,a United Kingdom-based former venture banker, has set up an tution subsidizing capital or savings for the natives of Akyem Oda in order to come up with quality tution for their education.
Mr Amponsah-Yeboah, an indigene of Oda, in person have given an initial investment of GH¢100,000 for the facility, known as Royal Agona Awosofie Education Fund, that is to support bright and intelligent but financially weak Oda natives seeking tution at the post-secondary education commencing from the 2025/26 academic year.
Mr Amponsah-Yeboah stated at the inauguration of the facility, May 7 at Oda, saying the primary goal of the endowment was to motivate the youth of Oda to learn very well and acquire top academic honours to take on responsibility as future leaders to develop Oda, and the country as a whole.
He emphasised that the endowment was equitable and free from of directorship, attaching that all clever and intelligent, financially weak students in Oda with excellent results at the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) were qualified to register for the scholarship.
Mr Amponsah-Yeboah highlighted that, a five-member Board of Directors had been established to accept applications from the prospective students and choose the students who are eligible on advantage for thoughtfulness through the upcoming academic year.
Obrempong Gyamfi Safo Kyere, The Krontihene of the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, who inaugurated the facility, complimented Mr Amponsah-Yeboah for establishing the reputable scheme and requested all wealthy natives of Oda to support with monetary issues proud to its favourable outcomes and growth.
He also stressed that, education was the substructure of evolution, which had supported countries like the UK, the USA, China and India, among soo many other countries, to step miles ahead from Africa.
Obrempong Kyere criticised the behaviour of some youth in the traditional area who were participating in illegal mining (galamsey) with the loss of their education and warned them to change their attitude.
Again, he recommended parents and guardians against indulging in valueless doings like buying high-cost clothes for funeral with the loss of their children’s tution. Michael Kumi, The Head of Finance and Administration at the Birim Central Municipal Directorate of Education, also showed his gratitude to Mr Amponsah-Yeboah for his scheme and pledged the absolute support of his setup to bring out more bright minds to aid in developing the area.
Koomson Barnes, The Headmaster of Attafuah Senior High/Technical School, grabbed the chance to make a heartfelt request to the stakeholders of the fund to comeback home and support to help improve the standards of living and quality of life of their natives and also support to the growth of the endowment.
The Chairman of the occasion Haruna Amadu Zure, The Birim Central Municipal Coordinating Director, recommended Mr Amponsah-Yeboah to extend the facility for the wellbeing of many clever and intelligent but financially weak students in the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area.
