“Gari Jollof” and “Donkey Saliva” Storm Free SHS Dining Halls
“Gari Jollof”, and “Donkey Saliva” Storm Free SHS dining halls as a result of food shortage in schools. The food shortage is reported to have hit Free SHS in the Upper East Region. Students in affected schools have complained about the poor quality food they are served.
The students have disclosed that the frequency of these less nutritious meals on their menu is worrying. In an interview with Class News, the students said they prefer Gari Jollof to the Donkey Saliva.
While Gari is a mixture of palm nut oil, salt, and a litter pepper, Donkey Saliva is a meal prepared with wheat flour, groundnut paste, and other ingredients to form groundnut soup. This soup is served along with plain rice.

The Students have expressed worry over the kind of food usually served them but they look forward to enjoying improved meals.
