Pastor Elvis Agyeman Donates Relief Items to Akosombo Dam Spillage Victims

In the wake of the recent Akosombo Dam spillage, Pastor Elvis Agyeman, the founder and lead pastor of Grace Mountain Ministry and the convener of Alpha Hour, has extended a helping hand to the affected residents. The pastor’s act of generosity was captured in a video shared on YouTube by Nana Tea and subsequently reported by GhanaWeb.
The video showcases a truckload of relief items, including bags of rice, mattresses, T-rolls, exercise books, and more, being loaded and sent to those affected by the dam spillage. In the video, Pastor Elvis Agyeman is seen expressing his apologies for the delayed response, explaining that he was not initially aware of the situation. He extended his gratitude to Youtuber Nana Tea for bringing the matter to his attention and prayed that such disasters do not recur.
Pastor Agyeman acknowledged his recent discovery of the crisis, saying, “Forgive me, it was only this week I heard something like that has happened, of a truth. It was only this week? Yes. I didn’t know. Mostly my phone is off, and I hardly watch the telly or something, so I didn’t know such news had broken out. But when we heard it, we’ve put ourselves together, and we are coming to our favorites.”
He continued, “Even if you are not part of the interaction, you are part in the spirit. We are going to help our fellow Voltarians, and we trust God that such a disaster will not happen in the country again.”
Pastor Agyeman also expressed his appreciation for Nana Tea’s involvement in organizing the relief efforts, saying, “God bless you Nana T for letting me know this and then standing in to make sure this thing is done. God Richard. Bless you.”
Currently, nine districts in the Volta Region are grappling with the aftermath of the flooding caused by the Akosombo Dam spillage. Communities like Battor, Tefle, Mepe, Sogakope, Adidome, and Anlo have been significantly affected, with many residents experiencing the submersion of their homes and properties. The humanitarian crisis has prompted self-evacuations by residents, while the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and various agencies engage in rescue operations. In this challenging time, Pastor Elvis Agyeman’s act of kindness serves as a shining example of community solidarity and support for those affected by the disaster.
