PGA Masters Championship Arrives at Celebrity Golf Club in Accra
Excitement is building at the prestigious Celebrity Golf Club in Sakumono, Accra, as it gears up to host the highly anticipated PGA Masters Championship. This event marks the grand finale of the thrilling “Road to Damang” golf series, promising four days of intense competition from Tuesday, November 7th to Friday, November 10th, 2023.
The PGA Masters Championship offers golfers their last chance to secure a coveted spot in the Damang tournament, set to take place in the Western Region. Anticipation is at its peak following the unforgettable spectacle at Achimota, where Alfred Kwame Nuamey defied the odds to clinch victory. Over seventy golfers, including some of the finest in the sport, are set to battle it out, embarking on a grueling journey of 72 holes across four action-packed days.

Alhaji Ahmed Padori, the Operations Director of PGA Ghana, conveyed his expectations for a fierce and exhilarating competition. With so much on the line, golfers are well aware of the significance of their performances. Padori highlighted that players on the cusp of player rankings would fight tooth and nail to stay in the race, while those on the outside are determined to break through.
This heightened level of significance has piqued the interest of golfers and enthusiasts across the board, making this championship a must-watch event. It’s not just the players who are excited; the golfing fraternity and the public at large are eagerly awaiting this thrilling showdown.
Padori took a moment to express his heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated executives of PGA Ghana, including the President, Vice President, and senior members, who have been instrumental in steering the “Road to Damang” journey towards success since January 2023.
He extended his appreciation to all golf stakeholders, including the media, golf clubs, co-sponsors, and the title sponsor, Goldfields, whose invaluable support has paved the way for this remarkable journey.
In the midst of the excitement, Padori also acknowledged the upcoming PGA elections, extending his best wishes to all members vying for various executive positions within the organization.
Amidst all the festivities, there’s a somber note in the world of Ghanaian golf, as the PGA joins a host of mourners in bidding farewell to the late Mr. Samuel Kwabena Appiah, affectionately known as “Man Day for Water Never Fear Cold.” He was a legend in the game, whose skills and innovations left an indelible mark on professional golf in the country. The PGA paid a touching tribute to this esteemed former member, extending their deepest condolences to his grieving family.
