The Five Portuguese Passport Types:

Temporary Passport: Temporary Passport (PT), which is issued in an emergency and is good for up to a year.

The passport has a five-year expiration date.

PORTUGAL PASSPORT ELIGIBILITY CRITERION

Adults who may be Portuguese citizens can obtain a passport if they meet the following requirements:

• For starters, they must have had a valid visa or other type of legal residence in the country for at least five years.
• Second, you must be fluent in Portuguese at the A2 level or higher.
• Finally, there is no criminal history.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR THE PASSPORT APPLICATION PROCESS

• Birth certificate
