Speaking in a recent interview,  Honorable Kennedy Agyapong made it clear that he is to help Ghana to develop and not to take from Ghana. On this basis, when he become the president of Ghana in 2024, he will not take a salary as the president of the nation.  If what Kennedy Agyapong is saying comes to pass, then he will set a huge record in Ghanaian politics.

In this fourth (4th) republic, no president in Ghana history has ever made such comment. In 1992, His Excellency the late President Jerry John Rawling reigned for eight (8) years he took salary as the president of Ghana. From 2001 to 2009, His Excellency Former President John Agyekum Kufour took salary as the president of Ghana. From 2009 to 2012, His Excellency the late President John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills also took salary as the president of Ghana. The immediate past president John Dramani Mahama also took salary when he was in power as the president of Ghana. To cut the long story short, the incumbent President His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo is also taking salary as the president of Ghana. This clearly shows that,  Honorable Kennedy Agyapong is having the country at heart as he speaks on the president’s salary in Ghana by saying, “I will not take salary when I become a president”, on the topic, Salary as a president.
