Renewed Curfew Imposed on 8 communities in Jaman South Municipality Of The Bono Region
The Ministry of Interior has imposed a renewed curfew on Drobo, Japekrom, Babianiha, Kwasibourkrom, Mpuasu, Basekrom, Kojokesekrom, and Katakyiekrom in the Jaman South Municipality of the Bono Region.
The curfew imposed on the eight communities aims to ensure law and order and public peace during the hours of the curfew. This informed the decision by the ministry to also ban all persons in the aforementioned communities and their environs from carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons. The press release furthered that any person found with any arms or ammunition would be arrested and prosecuted.
The renewed curfew imposed on 8 communities in Jaman South has been welcomed by the chiefs, elders and the people of the affected commuinities.
The renewed curfew takes effect each day in Bono Region from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., effective Thursday, January 11, 2024. This was contained in a press release by the Ministry of Interior and signed by Ambassador Deery (MP), Minister for the Interior, in Accra on Thursday, January 11, 2024.
Such curfews have negative implications for free movement, business, and every human activity as they bring to a halt every human activity until the curfew period is over each day.

The Minister for the Interior has by Executive Instrument renewed the curfew hours imposed on Drobo, Japekrom, Babianiha, Kwasibourkrom, Mpuasu, Basekrom, Kojokesekrom, and Katakyiekrom in the Jaman South Municipality of the Bono Region from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., effective Thursday, January 11, 2024.
The government continues to express its appreciation to the chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth, and people of the area for their efforts in ensuring peace in the area and urges them to use the established mechanisms for the resolution of all their conflicts and disputes.
Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the afore-mentioned communities and their environs from carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons, and any person found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.
