Robbers loot GH¢400,000 in Ngleshie Amanfro forex bureau heist
An armed robbery occurred at a forex office in Amanfro Top Town, Ga South Municipality, Greater Accra Region. The thieves made off with around GH¢400,000.
Having followed their every move from Kasoa Zongo, the assailants took advantage of the chance to attack in Amanfro Top Town, according to Alhaji Mumuni, the proprietor of the targeted forex bureau and a gold trader, who described the terrifying ordeal.
We decided to meet with a client in Amanfro after receiving a call from them. Two people on motorcycles crossed our path on the way, but we first thought they were just passing.
“However, as we neared our destination, the duo mounted a sudden attack, brandishing firearms and demanding the contents of a bag,” recalled Alhaji Mumuni.
Furthermore, he elaborated that his brother was forced to give up the bag that contained about 400,000 cedis, which included foreign currency, after a warning shot was fired in response to resistance.
Police in Ngleshie Amanfro have received a report of the occurrence and are now looking into it.
Many residents were too terrified to do anything to stop the heist, according to those who spoke with the media.
