Kisumu police have launched an investigation into the death of a University student.
Papa Obote’s body was discovered dangling from the roof of his Kisumu home.
After losing a bet worth Sh75,000, Obote is said to have committed suicide.
According to his close friends, the student took his own life because he lost a bet worth Ksh1.6 million.
Neighbors who saw the body raised the alarm and called the police from a nearby station.

According to the police officers who arrived at the scene, they discovered documents indicating that the deceased was a student at Maseno University and was expected to pay school fees with the money.
The body was taken to the morgue for preservation and postmortem examination.
