Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa is the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Volta Region’s North Tongu Constituency in Ghana. On August 11, 1980, he was born in Aveyime-Battor, Ghana.

AGE

The MP is currently 41 years old. On August 11, 2022, he will turn 42.

EDUCATION

He attended Presbyterian Boys School (PRESEC-Legon), Ghana, one of Ghana’s top state schools.

He was the Scripture Union’s Vice President at PRESEC (SU). Between 2002 and 2006, the Member of Parliament continued his schooling at the University of Ghana.

He earned his first Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Philosophy.

As a student at the University of Ghana in 2005 and 2006, he served as President of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS).

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa did not unwind after receiving his first degree. He pursued his Master of Arts in Communication, Media, and Public Relations at the University of Leicester in England.

He moved higher for additional qualifications because of his political ambitions. “Ablakwa also holds a Leadership Certificate from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in the United States and a Master of Science in Defence and International Politics from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College.”

POLITICAL CARRIAGE

Okudzeto is a National Democratic Party member (NDC). He was one of the members who worked on the NDC’s youth policy in the 2008 campaign manifesto.

He was a member of the Committee for Joint Action, a pro-masses pressure group (CJA).

In addition, he is an Accredited Member (APR) of Ghana’s Institute of Public Relations (IPR).

Between 2009 and 2013, he was the Government of Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Information.

Between 2013 through 2016, he served as the Government of Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Education once more.

He was the Managing Director of Saavi Solutions between 2007 and 2009.

He has served as the Member of Parliament for his constituency of North Tongu since 2009.

FAMILY

Hon. MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa married legal practitioner Nuhela Seidu. They have two children as a result (a daughter and a son).
