Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has resolved to award 25 best WASSCE students in the North Tongu constituency full scholarship for the pursuit of tertiary education.

The Member of Parliament who earlier on provided free WAEC result checkers for all candidates who sat for the WASCC 2020 for school candidates in his constituency indicated after his earlier gesture that he was interested in investing in the future of students in his constituency.

The Hon. Member of Parliament for North Tongu has communicated his plans for the best 25 best WASSCE students to the District Education Unit in the constituency.

Hon. Ablakwa in the statement also furthered that, the modest initiatives are expected to touch lives and improve on the ranking of the constituency than he came to meet it.

The scholarship will be awarded to five (5) students in each of the five (5) senior high schools in North Tongu in the Volta region to ensure equity across the schools.

“This year, five best performing WASSCE candidates (two males and three females) from each of our five senior high schools (a total of 25 students) will receive a full scholarship for the entire duration of their tertiary education,” a statement by the MP revealed.

Below is the full statement on 25 best WASSCE students awarded full scholarship

As heads of second cycle institutions begin the 2020 WASSCE Analysis, I have conveyed my decision to the North Tongu District Education Director, Mr Godwin Amelor to the effect that I am increasing the number of beneficiaries on the MP’s Scholarship Scheme.

This year, five best performing WASSCE candidates (two males and three females) from each of our five senior high schools (a total of 25 students) will receive a full scholarship for the entire duration of their tertiary education.

This package is in addition to our intervention which ensures all orphaned and vulnerable WASSCE candidates automatically qualify for full tertiary scholarships consistent with our tradition since I became MP for my beloved North Tongu. Currently, some 200 beneficiaries fall under this category.

I make no claims of being an AGYAPA, however, I sincerely hope that these modest initiatives would positively touch lives and eventually make our community a far better place than I met it. God bless..
