2026 US DV LOTTERY RESULTS are OUT, Check Here

2025 US DV LOTTERY RESULTS are OUT Visa Free Countries For Ghanaian Passport Holders (November 2023)
Official information reaching the Ghana Education News portal is that the 2026 US DV LOTTERY RESULTS are OUT. All lottery entry applicants who applied in 2024 can now check the status of their application on the official website.
Note that per the rules of the lottery, the results will be released from May 3rd, 2025, to September 30th, 2025. Ou have to keep checking your status nearly every week through out the indicated period above.

How to check your VISA lottery application status

To check, you need the following:

  1. 16-digit number beginning with the year of the DV Lottery you applied for, such as 2026
  2. Your last name, also known as your surname
  3. The year of birth or birth year

Now that you know the information you need, let us check.

To check, go to the checking site at https://dvprogram.state.gov/ESC/

On the site, enter your confirmation number (a 16-digit number beginning with the year of the DV Lottery that you applied for, such as 2026 ), your last name, and your year of birth. Authenticate by typing the characters shown in the box.

People who are selected in the lottery will receive the good news and information on how to apply for an immigrant visa (if living abroad) or how to adjust their status.

Don’t Fall Prey to Visa Lottery Scams

Again, Entrant Status Check is the only way to find out whether you are selected for the DV Lottery. The U.S. government does not send you any notifications.

Many unscrupulous individuals have promised DV applicants that they can get moved to the front of the line, get more entries, or obtain similar preferential treatment if they pay a fee. Other fraudsters have sent emails posing as the U.S. government, supposedly notifying recipients that they have won the DV lottery and advising them how to pay a fee for an immigrant visa.

These are all scams used to get your personal information and profit off your hopes for a chance to live and work in the United States

US Visa Interview Rules Changing in April 2025: Check the New Rules here

US Visa Interview Rules Changing in April 2025

Do you know the US Visa Interview Rules Changing in April 2025 And Its Impact On Visa Applications for all manner of international travellers heading to the US?

According to reliable information at the disposal of Ghana Education News, effective April 2025, every US VISA applicant will be required to have an accurate barcode on their DS-160 form. This form, along with the correct supporting documents, must be submitted within 72 hours and before the scheduled interview date. This is a new requirement by the US government for all foreign nationals seeking to enter the US for legitimate legal purposes.

In addition to this new requirement, a greater number of applicants who have been approved for US Visa interviews will be required to attend in-person interviews. All those planning to enter the US from April onwards must pay close attention to these new changes, as they are likely to affect travel plans.

Let us examine the detailed breakdown of the changes we are aware of:

Mandatory DS-160 Barcode Accuracy

Every applicant must provide the exact DS-160 barcode number used to schedule the VISA appointment. Any errors or discrepancies will result in the applicant being denied the interview and instructed to reapply. In addition, the applicant will be required to pay a new, additional $185 MRV (Machine Readable Visa) fee. One of the primary reasons for this new directive is to streamline the US Visa application process and reduce errors. Therefore, applicants must carefully double-check the information entered on the form before submitting it.

Machine Readable Visa (MRV) Fees

When applying for a US Visa, applicants are required to pay a non-refundable and non-transferable fee. This is known as the Machine Readable Visa (MRV) fee. The fee covers the processing costs of the visa application, regardless of whether the VISA is approved or denied.

Advance Digital Submission of Supporting Documents

Previously, applicants were required to bring physical documents to the Visa interview. Under the new system, supporting documents must be submitted electronically through the official CEAC portal within 72 hours before the interview. The documents VISA applicants must upload include:

  • Financial records
  • Invitation letters
  • Employment verification documents

This update eliminates last-minute document submissions, ensuring a smoother interview process.

Recent Changes in U.S. Visa Interview Waiver Policy

In addition to the new interview requirements, the U.S. Department of State has revised the visa interview waiver policy. As of February 18, 2025, consular officers now have reduced authority to waive in-person interviews for certain nonimmigrant visa applicants. This means:

  • Applicants who previously qualified for interview waivers may now be required to attend an in-person interview.
  • This policy shift affects categories such as work visas, student visas, and other temporary visa types.
  • Exceptions may still apply in specific cases, depending on the applicant’s previous visa history and other factors.

What These Changes Mean for Applicants

  • Double-check DS-160 details: Ensure the barcode number matches to avoid rescheduling delays.
  • Prepare documents in advance: Digital uploads must be completed 72 hours before the interview.
  • Be ready for in-person interviews: Fewer applicants will qualify for interview waivers, making preparation more crucial.

Tips for a Smooth US Visa Application

  • Start Early: Begin your application process well in advance.
  • Double-Check Everything: Pay close attention to details, especially the barcode.
  • Organize Your Documents: Create digital copies of all required documents.
  • Use the CEAC Portal: Familiarize yourself with the portal and upload your documents correctly.
  • Stay Updated: Visa rules can change. Keep an eye on the official Travel.State.gov website for the latest information.

Final Thoughts

Now that you know the US Visa Interview Rules Changing in April 2025, ensure you follow due process when applying for a Visa.  These new regulations emphasize accuracy, preparedness, and compliance with updated policies. Visa applicants should stay informed and ensure all requirements are met to avoid delays and extra costs. For more details, visit the official U.S. Department of State website.

Smart Legitimate Ways To Get A Schengen Tourist Visas Easily in 2025

Get A Schengen Tourist Visas Easily in 2025 Ghanaians Can Now Travel To These Countries Without Visa (September Update)
Navigating the complexities of international travel in 2025 requires more than just a passport; it demands strategy. Whether you’re aiming to explore the wonders of Europe or seeking opportunities abroad, understanding visa nuances can transform your travel dreams into reality. Here’s your guide to outsmarting the system.
Forget the conventional approach to securing a Schengen visa if you haven’t recently traveled within the zone. The landscape has shifted, and the regular tourist visa might not be your golden ticket anymore. Instead, consider leveraging educational or professional opportunities that not only enrich your experience but also streamline your visa process.
Applying for admission into a Schengen country’s educational institution, securing a work permit, or enrolling in a language course can significantly enhance your chances of entry. These avenues offer not just a visa but an immersive experience into the culture and life of the region, providing access to 29 countries with ease.

Avoid applying directly for the regular Schengen tourist/visiting visa unless you know you have travelled within the zone in the last 1-11 months, or you are a big-time business owner or politician. Hope this sounds clear.

Instead, Follow The smart, Legitimate Ways To Get A Schengen Tourist Visas Easily in 2025 Below

  1. Apply for admissions to any of the countries within the Schengen zone (best place to be in the world right now)
  2. Seek entry through the work route. A genuine work permit can give you access to 29 countries within the zone.
  3. Apply for a language course or any short-term course that has a duration exceeding 90 days (3 months); this is far better than putting in for a regular visiting or tourist visa.
  4. Avoid CANADA as much as possible, except you wouldn’t mind losing your money, as the chances of securing a visa to CANADA are extremely low. It doesn’t matter if you paid the full tuition or secured a genuine work.
  5. Canada is easy if you live in the western world.
  6. Australia is a go… still green but far from home.
  7. Avoid Turkey by all possible means…except by luck that you can make cash there but I insist don’t go there…

READ: How To Travel To South Africa After Visa Waiver

Be cautious with destinations like Canada, where visa approval rates are low unless you’re from the Western world, and steer clear of Turkey, where the visa situation is less predictable. Australia remains a viable option, though distant. This isn’t just travel advice; it’s a strategy for those serious about international mobility in these changing times.

10 Things About The 2025 IRCC Canada Work Permit Starting January 21

2025 IRCC Canada Work Permit Starting January 21 New Ways to Immigrate to Canada
  • What are the 10 Things You Need to Know About the 2025 IRCC Canada Work Permit Starting January 21?
  • Why is Canada introducing the new Family Open Work Permit (FWOP) program?
  • How will the new Family Open Work Permit (FWOP) program affect foreign workers?
  • How will the 2025 IRCC Canada Work Permit Starting January 21 affect children and spouse of foreign workers and students?

This post will address all the above questions.

Canada is introducing a new immigration process under the IRCC Canada Work Permit. This will take effect from January 21, 2025, and usher in the Canadian immigration processes and rules into a new era.

The introduction of the new procedures and rules will overhaul Canada’s Family Open Work Permit (FWOP) program. It will introduce stricter eligibility criteria for spouses of international students and foreign workers living and working in Canada.

Why is Canada introducing the new Family Open Work Permit (FWOP) programme?

The changes are being introduced to ensure that the Family Open Work Permit (FWOP) program and the persons with temporary residents under the programme are better aligned with the country’s economic priorities.

It will also ensure that labour shortages being experienced in key sectors of the Canadian economy are resolved strategically.

What are the 10 key things you need to know about the new Family Open Work Permit (FWOP) program rules?

1) Revised Eligibility for Spouses of International Students

Only spouses of students enrolled in select programs—such as master’s programs lasting 16 months or longer, doctoral programs, and certain professional programs—will qualify for Family OWPs.

2) Stricter Criteria for Spouses of Foreign Workers

Eligibility is limited to spouses of foreign workers employed in TEER 0 or 1 occupations or in specific TEER 2 or 3 roles within sectors experiencing labour shortages, including healthcare, education, and construction.

3) Work Permit Duration for Foreign Workers

The principal foreign worker must have at least 16 months remaining on their work permit at the time their spouse applies for an OWP.

4) Exclusion of Dependent Children

Dependent children of foreign workers will no longer be eligible for Family OWPs under the updated criteria.

5) Impact on Current Work Permits

Family OWPs issued under the previous rules will remain valid until their expiration date. Renewal applications will need to meet the new criteria.

6) Permit Renewal for Extended Programs

Family members can apply to renew their OWPs if the principal applicant extends their study or work permit, provided the renewal meets the updated criteria.

7) Sector-Specific Occupations List

A detailed list of eligible occupations for Family OWPs will be published by the government on January 21, 2025.

8) Exemptions for Specific Groups

Spouses of workers under free trade agreements and those transitioning to permanent residency will not be affected by the new restrictions.

9) Flexibility for Ineligible Family Members

Family members who no longer qualify for a Family OWP can explore other work permit options available under Canada’s broader programs.

10) Program Goals

These changes are intended to improve the integrity of Canada’s temporary resident programs, ensuring they align more effectively with economic goals and labour market priorities.
