The Fourth Estate led by Manasseh Azure Awuni has uncovered ongoing yearly school placement fraud in Ghana.
The school placement system which is a computerized system is used to place students in various secondary schools based on merits. This investigative piece proves that there are always under dealings and manipulation of the so-called school placement system, which has been described over the years as a credible system that places all candidates based on merit.
Only God knows how many such illegal activities have been planned to be initiated as soon as the 2023 School placement starts.
The investigative piece promo has been uploaded on the Facebook page of the Fourth Estate. The short version of the video already posted is gaining the attention of the public.
It came to light that some parents had to pay as much as GHS20,000 to get placed in schools. Others pay, GHS8500 to also get their wards placed in schools of their preference.
Most of the schools that are being traded for cash are Category A schools.
A lady stated in the short promo video that, she had to pay GHS20,000 for her ward to be given placement in Wesley Girls.
According to the Fourth Estate, the full investigative movie will be shown on January 30th, 2023.
The School placement fraud uncovered by Fourth Estate investigators is a sad reality. Syndicates within the education space have taken over the school placement system and make money from it at the expense of students who work so hard but do not get placed in the schools they deserve.
Parents are ready to pay for their wards to be placed in the best Senior High schools, and there are officials who are ready to take such huge sums to alter placements.
Of what use is the Computerized school placement and its associated school selection during the BECE registration when others will use money to get their students placed in schools their wards do not deserve?
Our system and structures are not working. In Ghana, even if we like we should elect Pope as our president without system and structural change, he’ll fail miserably. Nothing is surprising any longer in this country.
Some comments left on the video posted by the Fourth Estate on their Facebook page show that head teachers of the various public SHS cash out during the school placement each year.

“It happens every year. It’s a cocoa season for these people, with some top men behind. Fish them out.” another comment stated.
Do not miss the School placement for sale to be shown on 30th January 2023 as placement fraud uncovered by Manasseh Azure’s Fourth Estate goes live on their website and on their YouTube Channel.
