See how some telcos are stealing your airtime and what you can do

It is sad that some telcos are stealing your airtime as a subscriber to their services by signing you up for stuff you know nothing about.
The basic rules of customer service and ethical business practices are that customers must only be charged for the services they want and have subscribed to. However, many mobile phone users and telco services are being ripped off.
How some telcos are stealing your airtime and what you can do
Many Ghanaian telco customers are “blind” to the stealing acts of some of the telcos in Ghana. To check the subscriptions you have and to know which ones you did not subscribe to, dial the following.
If you use MTN, dial *175# on MTN
If you use AirTel Tigo, dial *100# on AT
If you use Telecel, dial *463# on Telecel
These will help you to see your subscriptions on these networks, and by knowing them, you can take action. Do well to unsubscribe from the services you did not apply for and save your data.
It is important that the telcos in Ghana respect their clients and do not manipulate them into subscribing for all manner of needless services and SMS alerts. Again, the telcos must not register their customers for services that the customers have not personally requested for.
As a user of the services of telcos (text message services, call services, and data services), it is important that you keep an eye on your subscribed services.

As a user of the services offered by these telcos, do well to be in charge when it comes to decision-making. Do not just subscribe to any service they throw at you. Examine their ads and SMS alerts to find out if you really need these services. If you do not, there is no need to subscribe so that you can use the airtime for the intended and right purpose that benefits you, the customer.

It is also important that these telcos re-examine their aggressive marketing campaigns sent as SMS which try to push excessive ads to clients.
