SHS Placement for 2023: Projected placement date to watch

The 2022 BECE results are out, and all candidates know the outcome of their exam, but next in line is the SHS Placement for 2023. Everyone wants to know the date for the release of the 2023 School Placements for BECE graduates.

There is reliable information from the Ministry of Education on when the school placements will be out.

The PRO of the MoE Mr. Kwarteng disclosed that the school placements will be out two weeks after the release of the BECE result.

“After the BECE results are out, the 2022 Senior High/Technical School placement in less than two weeks will be released. The students are expected to report to school in February this year,” the Education Ministry spokesman said. He made this public ahead of the results.

The 2022 BECE results were released on 25th January 2023 and two weeks is 14 days from the result date. Based on the assurance given by the MoE, Ghanaeducation.org projects the 2023 school placements will be released between 8th February 2023 and 11th February 2023.

Already, the 2023/2024 academic calendar for SHS shows that first-year students will be expected to report to school on 20th February 2023.

The projected dates of 8th February 2023 to 11th February 2023 for the release of the 2023 School Placements are near accurate.

Should the placements be released later than the dates projected, the reporting date of 20th February 2023 for SHS1 students may be extended by another week to 27th February 2023

Parents and students who are eagerly looking forward to the placements must not lose sight of the fact that not all students will be placed.

Again, the actual raw scores obtained by candidates in their Core subjects and the best two other subjects will play a key role in the final decision of the MoE and the Free SHS secretariat’s decision in placing students.
